They're certainly helping me. I was both touched and inspired by your recent interview on Mixergy. The part where you talked about the concepts in this post -- especially how easily the idea muscle atrophies and how it will take 1-6 months to build it up was an eye-opener to me. I kept thinking I didn't have any good ideas, but the truth is that I had let the muscle atrophy due to non-use. I'm going to start some new daily rituals thanks to your post here and interview with Andrew.

Have you ever read "The Power of Full Engagement"? Some of your ideas seem to fit very well with that book - even the 4 categories it uses, I believe.

The exercise doesn't have to be brutal. Start off with 15 minutes. Do 20 pushups 5 times a day. That will take 8 minutes of your day and it will spread out so it won't brutalize you too much. Build up from that. Stretching is good also. Get into a stretch and stay there while breathing deeply. Breathe ten times deeply. Look at yoga books to see different types of stretches.

In terms of sleep: figure out why you can't sleep. Its really important. Don't sleep next to your computer. Make sure digestion is ok at night. And medicate if you have to until your sleep schedule is better.

Tht's great. Now, with those extra hours, I hope you are making good use of them: build out the idea muscles. Spend some time developing some sort of spiritual practice (any spiritual practice, it doesn't matter what). Read. etc.

Being disciplined, but within the context of these four things: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. You don't have to do a lot. Just making sure you check the box on each item each day. Then you can build into however disciplined you want to be.

Btw, Constantin, I'm glad you like these various posts.
