You dredged up something in me with this post. That feeling of your body settling to the ground because your mind can't go forward anymore. If it were the body that was stopping, it wouldn't be shameful. When it's the mind that stops, you know no one gets it, and you're ashamed.

I read this when you posted it but have been touching on it mentally since then, having gone through my own forced stop recently. Thanks for sharing.

2 recent lessons: Ripping off the gullible is what's important in the US.

1) Not willing to stop at "The Doctors," a few days ago my scientist buddy's wife showed him one of those "Shark Tank" pseudo entrepreneur shows where people with incredibly useless products were pitching Mark Cuban and 4 other sharks. (My buddy played it for me yesterday.)

These two women were selling a program to day care operators with a 10 year liceanse. Day care workers are perhaps the most overworked and lowest paid workers in the country, so any money they pay out is money not going to the poverty-level staff. Cuban and the two women were giddy with delight to realize they'd suckered the daycare operators into paying money for nothing. There was more stuff with Cuban scoring the deal over another shark.

But to my buddy and I the lesson was clear: If you want an investment it has nothing to do with making something of value Ripping off the gullible is what's important!2) I got an email (no, we don't friend each other) from one of my old code developers. It seems he lives a few blocks from Harold Camping of this week's End of the World scam.

Harold has done pretty well for himself with a net worth of $72 million owns 4 modest homes in the area. He brought in $18 million last year and his operations sure don't look expensive.
Harold could give Lady Gaga lessons in creating fame. He got his message globally in just 5 months.Ripping off the gullible is what's important!

I told my buddy the scientist he's either got to cancel the cable service, get a divorce or open a church.
