If I were Vice-President I would head an agency to eradicate the use of the name "America" by corporate losers.

There's no reason our good name should be muddied by the likes of "Bank of America" or "American Airlines". China could care less what kind of crap it turns out for export, or what a "Made in China" label goes onto, but you can bet your ass that they're not going to let some rinky dink bank operate as The Bank of China or The Chinese National Bank.

Remember American Motors? Of course not, because they were rotten and needed to be expunged. We did so and for a couple of decades the American auto industry thrived.

We can do the same for banking and air transportation.

After that's done on national and local levels, the very same needs to be done with "United States" or "U.S."

To think otherwise would be un-American.

> (am I the first to notice they spelled "Congress" wrong?)

They didn't spell it wrong, this letter "s" is doing yoga and it's all stretched out.

" If you had extra money you’d buy more stuff, right?"

Sounds a lot like common sense, doesn't it? But most people would use the extra money to pay down debts. Which would be a massive transfer of wealth to banks, who would then just sit on the money. As for the wealthy, it wouldn't really affect their spending habits either, since it's already the case that nearly all of their income is discretionary income. Less taxes and less government spending means lower velocity of money, leading to deflation and widespread misery.

@Scott - the EPA does not PREVENT pollution, it LICENSES (permits) it. The state courts would not uphold property rights of owners versus polluters, particularly when the government-subsidized railroads and government-monopoly power companies were involved, and then Wilson and then Roosevelt put a gun to the head of industry (which some industrialists heartily welcomed, BTW) and said 'produce what we want or else', pollution be damned, which also happened in the nascent nuclear weapons complex. So a problem - pollution - which is self-evidently the fault of / aided and abetted by government, is only solvable by...more government. Your argument is so bad, it isn't even wrong.

Good start. I just don't think you went far enough, so I added two additional thoughts.

For eliminating the acrimonious (or is that acronymous) bureaucracies: Start by eliminating all the ones that begin with a letter. Then eliminate all the rest of them.

And why do we even need a Constitution then? There wouldn't be any reason to have to legislate, since everyone remaining will be intelligent enough to live without some ninny telling them what to do. So this will save the time of having to call a Constitutional Convention.

James... For what it is worth, superbly said. Given our present Ruling Psychopathy, however, I am certain that TPTB would not allow you ten minutes in office should that opportunity arise. You would quickly find yourself on the "far side" with Lennon, Gandhi, the Kennedy brothers, and MLK. Sadly, "Crappy"people are still in charge. The good news is: their days are over and those much-awaited karmic chickens are finally (FINALLY) coming home to roost.

Thanks, too, for "I Was Blind But Now I See" (as an ophthalmologist, I couldn't resist it). I have just re-ordered another bunch of them to give as holiday gifts! ...Maybe it will help you and yours have a better one, even as it has mine... Thank you.

Be safe as you go...

Robert

I like your platform very much, Mr. Veep. I think you'd make a great ticket mate with the Good Doctor, Ron Paul. IMO, he must get on the ballot next November--no matter what. I think he would actually be a serious contender as an independent.
